So you have your laptop or stand-alone computer, you know very little about applications or how to take care of your computer, you chat to your friends on MSN or you log on to your Facebook page, upload a few photos and may even send an Email or two, if this is you then read on.
I am amazed how many people I know that routinely switch on their PC, log on to Facebook or Twitter, look at a few websites, then switch off. Mention cleaning cookies or keeping the anti-virus up to date and I get the odd daft look. Until of course when something goes wrong and they can’t understand why they cannot log on to their favourite social media sites.
Below are some easy basic FREE applications that can be downloaded to your PC they will help keep your PC clean and tidy with minimum effort along with some other applications you may want to try to enable you to have some fun and try other things that you may not normally venture into. (don’t worry they are all very well-known applications and easy to use or delete if you don’t like them). Most people know about these applications and they have stood the test of time.
Avira AntiVir Personal Simple to use and light Antivirus software. It works perfectly fine to detect virus, spyware, rootkit threats. The best part of Avira is that it is quiet outstanding in terms of finding malware. Few false positives about Avira is that it does not include E-mail scanner in free version, but if you open any infected E-mail, it comes again into action.
Avast Free Antivirus software is available for free. It provides complete virus protection for your computer. Malwarebytes products have a proven record of protecting computers by completely removing all forms of malware, including trojans, spyware, adware and rootkits. When it comes to the safety of your computer.

Have a go and make your own CDs to play at home or in the car.

They are all basic first step kind of applications but will keep your computer a new lease of life and protect it from nasty’s while you use the other applications and have some fun.
